Insurer Information & Claims / Complaint Notification

Legal Expenses is available as an added value section on all our Policies. The cover is as follows:

Employment Disputes and Compensation Awards (including Service Occupancy)

  • Legal Defence
  • Property Protection and Bodily Injury
  • Tax Protection
  • Contract Disputes (Optional)

There are also 24 hour help and advice lines available for Commercial Legal Advice (for Employment Disputes/Proposed Redundancies etc), Tax Advice, Business Assistance and confidential Counseling for not only employees but also immediate family members permanently living with employees. In addition there is access to the DAS website with full online Employment Manual and additional documentation for the running of client’s businesses.

To make a claim under this section, please telephone 0117 934 2111. You will be asked about your legal dispute and if necessary, receive legal advice. If your dispute needs to be dealt with as a claim under this section, you will be provided with a claim reference number. At this point, DAS will not be able to confirm that you are covered but the information you provide will be passed to the specialist claims handling teams and you will be advised about what to do next.

When DAS have accepted your claim, your legal costs will be paid.

You can phone DAS at any time on 0117 934 2111 if you wish to use any of the helpline services.

Claims are usually handled by a representative appointed by DAS, but sometimes DAS deal with claims ourselves.  Claims outside the United Kingdom may be dealt with by other DAS offices elsewhere in Europe.

Complaints procedure

DAS will always try to provide a quality service.  If you are dissatisfied, please address all complaints to the Customer Relations Department at the Head Office address. Alternatively, you can telephone 0117 934 0066 or email customerrelations@das.co.uk. Details of the internal complaint handling procedures are available on request.
